About the author(s) Yang Hyunah (Yang, Hyeon-a) is Professor of Law at Seoul National University where she teaches feminist jurisprudence and sociology of law. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the New School for Social Research. Her main fields of interest are family law and policy in Korea and the testimony of victims of human rights violations and their relations with legal institutions. Her publications include ¡°Unfinished Tasks for Korean Family Policy in the 1990s: Maternity Protection Policy and the Family-Head System¡± (2002) and ¡°Gender Equality vs. ¡®Tradition¡¯ in Korean Family Law: Toward a Postcolonial Feminist Jurisprudence¡± (2003).
