About the author(s) Yi Yong-ak (1914-1971) was active in Seoul literary circles and served successive terms as the editor-in-chief of the literary journal Inmun pyeongnon before electing to return to the north during the Korean War. The true excellence of his poetry is most apparent in his "stroy poems" which have a narrative character based firmly upon his own life and actual experience.
